New Year 2023 Website Updates And Junk
Intro
Its been an interesting year, 2022. Slightly less scary than 2021, but just as fucked up. Everything is just more expensive now. Hentai is Art has remained a little glimmer of light in a ever darkening world. Having a small safe space to enjoy sexy anime titties is paramount in times such as these. I’ll admit, I have not been the best host lately with lack of post consistency, but I am going to rant about how I will do better and talk about some of the back end things going on with the website.
Let’s Talk About The Ads
It was never my intention to have a website loaded down with ads, but here we are. I’ve tried to keep things to a somewhat minimum, honest. I have been trying to find work in a balance that helps me at least break even on website costs per month because, hey, real life me is broke you guys. I lost a really big affiliate program last year with Toy Demon due to them ending their program. I have since moved to OtonaJp, but with their store being located in Japan, shipping costs are just insane for most of my readers. So, I had to make it up with ads to break even so to speak. This is just me being super transparent with you.
The Content
What content? Am I right? Yeah, I know there hasn’t been a lot of posts this year. Its just been busy with real life stuff and the blog tends to take a backseat sometimes. I am pretty sure I said something like this on my last years site update too. Truth is, I am self employed and have been trying to grow a work from home type of business and build up multiple streams of income all devoted to different passions. This blog is my passion for Hentai. I am still struggling in my other businesses, but things are looking up. I am hanging in there with inflation and staying very financially lean for the recession we are in.
Content may be a little rocky for little longer, but I have some new plans for 2023 Q2. I am coming up with different post templates to produce more regular consistent content, and make the systems in how I post overall easier and more efficient. This year I have been doing an insane amount of organizing in my life and I am trying to translate into the website.
Site Design
Nothing new really going on here. I am no professional web designer I am going the best I can here. If I happen to go viral one day and make a ton of ad or affiliate marketing money then I’d love to have a big overhaul done and maybe license a logo or something. For now though we have this, and I personally like it. It’s simple and it allows the art to do the talking.
I am trying to tweak some thing about how images display and make it easier for mobile users. At this point I am highly committed to NextGen gallery plugin for my entire website that it would hard to switch away now. I could pay for a Pro plan or whatever and get access to better features, but ya know….money. I’m sorry I am a poor fuck.
Bugs
I can’t figure out how to upload videos anymore. Out of no where one day I couldn’t upload a single video and for the life of me I don’t know why. I tried uploading directing through my cpanel FTP and still can’t access it in WordPress. It will let me upload stuff I’ve previously uploaded, but nothing new…..what..?
I’ve been trying to mess with it, but its hard. Bugs are hard. Especially when you don’t know what you’re doing. I’ll get it figured out, but for the short term more art and comic posts.
Final Thoughts
It has always been a dream of mine to own and operate a legit Hentai website, and while this blog may be a little small, it still brings in viewers all over the world to see what I have to share. I hope to continue bringing you great curated content to your feeds and helping you all find new artists that you can follow.
